Gerald Swindle's 2019 Bassmaster Classic Strategy

Gerald Swindle Bassmaster Classic Strategy

Mossy Oak Fishing has five anglers competing in the 2019 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Dick's Sporting Goods. The Classic is in Knoxville, Tennessee, March 15-17. In these videos, you'll get some insight into Gerald Swindle's strategy for the much anticipated bass fishing tournament.

Two weeks before the tournament, Swindle begins prepping his boat with tackle and gear he may need for the tournament. He religiously looks at the weather forecast and makes sure he has on hand the best bait and fishing gear for the predicted forecast.

After considering the weather and water conditions, Swindles realizes he'll be fishing in high water, muddy conditions. Is that a bad thing? He thinks it could set up to be a good fishing tournament. Bring it on!

Swindle prefers fishing in cloudy water with a good current. Looking ahead at the Classic, he thinks the expected water conditions set up nicely for him to have a good tournament.

Swindle lets us in on a little secret. He reveals the top two baits he will be using if the conditions hold up.

The 3-day practice leading up to the tournament is where a lot of big decisions are made. During those days, Swindle will try and pinpoint which parts of the river to fish in an effort to save time trying to locate them during the tournament.

Jordan Lee plans to put all his eggs in one basket. Find out what his strategy is for the tournament by watching his strategy for the Classic. For a livestream of the weigh-ins, go to bassmaster.com.
