Floyd and Gibbons Win Mossy Oak Fishing Bassmaster High School Classic

Bassmaster High School winners

As title sponsor of the Bassmaster High School Series and official pattern of B.A.S.S., Mossy Oak is thrilled to congratulate Tommy Floyd Jr. and James Gibbons who are the new Bassmaster High School Classic champions.

“It’s an honor to play a role in this tremendous program for young anglers at the high school level,” said Ben Maki, Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer of Mossy Oak. “We’re proud of all the competitors, pursuing their outdoors passion and learning through the experience.”

The pair from South Florence High School, located in Florence, South Carolina, out-fished their competitors with a five-fish limit weighing in at 8 pounds, 13 ounces out of the event’s Lake Keowee.  This victory adds the title of Classic Champions to their already impressive resume listing them as National Champions after winning the 2017 Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship.

“James and Tommy have both worked very hard to get to where they are,” said South Florence High School Fishing Coach Tommy Floyd Sr.  “These young men always fish their hardest day in, day out and we are super proud of their performance.”

Mossy Oak is also supporting sponsor of the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series and the presenting sponsor of the Huk Performance Fishing Bassmaster Elite Series tournament at Upper Chesapeake Bay. Mossy Oak entered the fishing arena with its launch of Elements Agua last year. Elements Agua provides outdoors men and women with a pattern all their own, one that represents a lifestyle on the water that they love.
