Using the legs and thighs of your wild turkey harvest, you can make use of your bird's meat with this loaded turkey fries recipe. Once you get your turkey leg broken down, prepare them in a slow cooker for tender, flavorful meat served over fries with some of your favorite toppings.

Ingredients: 

  • 2 turkey legs 
  • 2 turkey thighs 
  • 1 can of Coke or DP 
  • 1 can beer 
  • ½ cup brown sugar 
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 
  • 3 tbsp garlic powder 
  • 2 tbsp onion powder 
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 1 tbsp paprika 
  • 1 tbsp cracked pepper 
  • 4 cloves garlic, smashed 
  • ½ white onion, sliced 
  • 2 cups BBQ sauce
  • 1 bag of your favorite fries 

Toppings:

  • Beans
  • Cilantro 
  • Onions
  • Cheese
  • Sour cream
  • BBQ sauce  
  • Any of your favorites 

Directions: 

1. In slow cooker add all ingredients minus 1 cup of BBQ sauce. 
2. Cook on low for 7-8 hours. 
3. Pull out the bones and leg tendons that have now turned hard like bones. Shred meat back into slow cooker until ready to eat. 
4. Cook fries according to packaging. 
5. Pull meat from slow cooker and toss it with remaining BBQ sauce, top your fries and go crazy customizing it how you see fit. 
6. Enjoy!
