It's important to take care of your gear so that it lasts as long as it can, and some of the more iconic brands will last a long time. We recruited Tony Rosetti, a local gun expert and former Olympic shooter, to teach us how to break down guns.
MOSSBERG 935 MAGNUM BREAKDOWN
STEPS
Take the magazine cap off.
Pull off the barrel, piston, and piston seal.
Take off the spacer, pusher, spring, and forearm retainer.
Hammer out the two pins for the trigger assembly.
Take the bolt assembly out, pull the operating handle out. The bolt and bolt carrier will come out in two pieces.

STEPS
Slide the bolt and bolt carrier back in.
Use needle nose pliers to fit the handle into the tube. This acts as a spring for the gun.
Put the operating handle back in--it will snap into place.
Put the trigger assembly back in, making sure it's flush against the back.
Hammer the two pins back into place.
Slide on the spacer, forearm retainer, spring, then pusher.
Slide on the spacer and then the piston, making sure the piston is flush.
Push the barrel back down, flush with the other pieces. Slide the forend back on.
Screw the magazine cap back on.
