Jim Dougherty 1936-2015

It was an honor and privilege to know Jim Dougherty. He has, without a doubt, made an impact on the hunting community and culture, and we are grateful for his wisdom, skill and instruction, specifically as it pertains to bowhunting. Jim was inducted into the Archery Hall of Fame in 1997 for his contribution to the sport. He told stories and shared insight from his outdoors experience on the last page of every Petersen's Bowhunting magazine. No doubt, his presence and expertise will be greatly missed.

“Why do I bowhunt? Because I love it. Sometimes I get very frustrated, but I think we are supposed to. After all, we do it because we want to make things a bit more difficult, because we like the challenge. One way or another I am involved in it – or around it – 24 hours a day. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

“I would like to be remembered as a guy who loved to bowhunt, who did it rather well and who tried to represent the sport properly.” - Jim Dougherty

We are blessed and honored to feature our long-time ProStaffer and bowhunting legend, Jim Dougherty, in one of our recent commercials for Break-Up Country entitled "Inheritance."
