How Long Can You Go without Food?

5-22 Feed Me
How long can you go without food? Your food plot plants also need food in the form of fertilizer. Fertilizers will have an analysis that tell you what they contain. Most often the analysis will tell you the N, P, K ratio (N is nitrogen, P is phosphorus and K is potassium) for the product. As an example, a 10-10-10 fertilizer would contain 10 pounds each of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in 100 pounds of fertilizer. When figuring out your fertilizer needs you need to remember that the analysis tells us what is contained in 100 pounds of fertilizer, but many of us buy our fertilizer in 40 or 50 pound bags. So make sure you do the math correctly.

A balanced N, P, K ratio on several different products can really give you the same results. 10-10-10, triple 13 or 19-19-19 all give you even ratios of each nutrient. You just need less 13-13-13 than you would 10-10-10 to cover the same area and get the same actual nutrient levels.

If only 30% of 100 pounds of 10-10-10 are nutrients, what is the other 70 pounds? In most fertilizers it’s inert matter! It can be sand, gravel or even powdered corn cob or ground walnut shell. Rather than giving you something that is worthless, BIOLOGIC’S PH FERTILIZER gives you finely-ground lime instead of worthless inert matter. This product gives you a combination that adds your vital nutrients and improves your soil’s pH in a single pass.
