Venison Stir-Fry

Mix sugar, dill and soy sauce in bowl. Coat venison with sauce mixture and set aside. Heat oil and butter in skillet on high. Add venison and sauce and cook about 5 minutes. Remove venison from sauce and add broccoli and onion to sauce. Cover and cook until tender. Add back venison and apples and mix together. Serve over rice.

Deer Contract EHD in 40 Indiana Counties

Epizootic hemorrhagic disease (EHD) is caused by a specific breed of flies called midges. The Indiana DNR reports EHD in 40 Indiana countries and is still working to determine the number of deer infected, but in nearby Michigan there are at least 6500 affected deer across 28 counties. Indiana Poised to Make Electronic Check-In Permanent

Indiana Natural Resources commission could make electronic check-in for deer and wild turkey permanent. The CheckIN Game system has been in use under temporary rule since the spring turkey season. A public hearing October 4th in Plainfield could seal the deal. During the test period, 17% of check-ins were electronic, and hunters will still be able to report their successes at check-in stations.

Bonus Deer Spark Policy Change for Tennessee Hunters

Hunters that received their permits for the Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area were surprised to find that this year's permits count against their state-wide limit.
