Mossy Oak Receives QDMA’s 2018 Corporate Achievement Award

QDMA Corporate Achievement Award 2018

Mossy Oak CEO and founder Toxey Haas and Senior Vice President Ronnie “Cuz” Strickland accepted QDMA’s 2018 Corporate Achievement Award in an announcement made at the QDMA 2018 National Convention.

Mossy Oak is the longest-standing corporate sponsor of QDMA, having signed on in 1998 after meeting with QDMA’s brand new CEO Brian Murphy at the SHOT Show when QDMA was only 10 years old. At the time, Mossy Oak told Murphy that QDMA was the smallest group they would even consider supporting through a sponsorship, but they said QDMA represented what the company stood for and believed in. Mossy Oak’s steadfast support has continued ever since as QDMA has grown, and in 2017 Mossy Oak became the Official Camouflage of QDMA.

“Mossy Oak’s love for the hunt defines every waking moment of their lives and has been the foundation of their company since 1986,” said Steve Levi, QDMA Director of Corporate Relations. “They hunt because they were born to. They conserve wildlife and wild places because they are our lifeblood. And they inspire the next generation so that our lifestyle will never perish.”

Through the tremendous generosity of corporate sponsors, QDMA can continue to grow, increase awareness and maximize our mission delivery. While a company can partner with QDMA simply by providing temporary financial support, some go well beyond their financial obligations and embrace the partnership and conservation in a more meaningful fashion. Mossy Oak is one such company.

In Mossy Oak’s 20 years of corporate support for QDMA, their cumulative financial contribution to QDMA’s non-profit mission now totals in six figures. The two organizations share much in common in their commitments to hunting heritage and their conservation priorities, which can be seen in all of the Haas Outdoors brands, including Mossy Oak GameKeepers, BioLogic, Nativ Nurseries, and Mossy Oak Properties.

Twice in QDMA history, officers at Mossy Oak have also voluntarily served lengthy terms on the QDMA National Board of Directors, sharing their business and marketing expertise to help lead and grow the organization. Most recently, Ronnie “Cuz” Strickland, Senior Vice President of Mossy Oak, joined the Board in early 2017.

When QDMA named Mossy Oak the Official Camouflage of the organization, Mossy Oak designated QDMA as an Official Conservation Partner and will bring its significant marketing power into play in support of advancing QDMA’s mission to ensure the future of white-tailed deer, wildlife habitat and our hunting heritage.

Captain’s Braised Wild Turkey Legs
I’ll never stop preaching the value of wild turkey legs in my meat gospel. You’ll get upwards of two pounds of boned-out meat from those “tough” legs. And yes, they are tough—but that’s why you should braise them. Braising is the saving grace for cooking any lean wild game meat. Braised wild turkey leg meat is awesome for cold sandwiches, soup, tacos, nachos, or just a quick forkful of protein when you’re famished after a
