Why Brassicas?

Thanks to the innovative minds at BioLogic, hunters have throngs of food plot options to choose from. And while the options are many, three that shouldn’t be overlooked include Green Patch Plus, Full Draw and Maximum. Why? The answer is really quite simple: Both contain brassicas.

Brassicas are very easy to grow and provide an inexpensive, quality food source for your deer herd. Brassicas also produce loads of forage, allowing those who can only plant small plots to keep deer on those plots for months at a time. Brassicas produce as much as 10 tons of forage per acre and are loaded with crude protein giving your deer what they need to stay healthy and put on antler growth.

Brassicas are particularly tasty to deer because they are sweetened by frost when water from their leaves gets transferred to their roots, thus lowering the water concentration in the leaves. Because the water concentration in the leaves is significantly lowered, the sugar concentration rises making them irresistible to whitetails.

Designed for fall planting, Green Patch Plus boasts 5-percent brassicas and is considered an entry-level product in the brassicas arena. Full Draw on the other hand contains 33-perecnet brassicas. Its fast germinating cultivars attract whitetails in the early season, and because brassicas provide palatable forage in the later months, deer will continue to nibble on them throughout the late season.

Then there is Maximum. A blend that contains eight different brassicas, this product has no downside and leads to rapid weight gain, improved deer health and massive antler growth.
