What Happens at Honey Brake Lodge after Limiting Out on Ducks

Another question I'm often asked when people are considering hunting with us at Honey Brake is, “What can we do if we have taken our limit of ducks before 9 or 10?” Guests who want to can shoot sporting clays; or, you can do an upgrade and hunt wild hogs; or, you can go fishing in Larto Lake. Our lodge is on beautiful Larto Lake, part of the Larto-Saline Complex. Lake Larto is rated the number-5 crappie lake in the nation, and it homes plenty of big, beautiful, speckled-side crappie. We do bass trips, but most of the time, our guests want to fish with one or more of their buddies. So, although bass fishing is available, most of our guests prefer to crappie fish. Our four sporting clay courses have 15 stands, and a Duck Flush stand (a clay-target shooting game).

The Rest of the Story of Samantha Wolfe’s Elk of a Lifetime

When the elk slowed down and kept walking toward us, I could tell that the bull I’d shot was hit because he was limping. When the bulls were at 250 yards, I shot my bull four more times, however, he never flinched. He didn’t move at all, and neither did the other two bulls with him. I thought I’d missed the bull completely.

Samantha Wolfe’s Elk of a Lifetime

You don’t have to name your dog Mossy to be part of the Mossy Oak family. You don’t have to have your senior high school project include using Mossy Oak logos. You don’t have to have an almost totally Mossy Oak wardrobe to be a Mossy Oak pro, however, all these actions help. “My real name is Samantha, but everybody calls me Sam,” says 21-year-old Mossy Oak Pro Samantha Wolfe from Lincoln, North Dakota. “I’ve been hunting as far back as I can remember.”

Clint Lindemann’s Story of Friendship and Hunting

I believe that the friend who shot me took that accident much harder than I did. After the accident, the two of us have remained good friends. When he got married, he asked me to be a groomsman in his wedding. He was one of my hunting buddies before the accident, and he’s one of my hunting buddies today.

You Can Return to the Outdoors If You’ll Adapt, Overcome and Conquer

Last year I started shooting a shotgun and found a way to adapt it to my rifle mount. I hope to be able to take a pheasant or grouse this fall. The shotgun is primarily used to shoot moving targets like pheasant and grouse, and I'm able to move my shoulder enough to position the gun out in front of the bird and then pull the trigger. When I shoot the shotgun, it’s quite a dance to see, because there are so many different moving parts before I can get the gun in position to pull the trigger. I also hope to be able to shoot my shotgun well enough to shoot targets at the trap range.
