Food Plot Boost on a Budget

FieldNotes4.22.14_hdr

Much of the country has experienced a late spring this year with temperatures that stayed below normal well into April. These below average temperatures can delay planting times and keep perennial plots from jumping back out of the ground quite as aggressively. For a quick boost of growth on these lagging clover, chicory, or alfalfa plots, check out M.E.E.N Green water soluble fertilizer.

Feeding your plants through the foliage can give an instant boost in growth and health of the plant.  BioLogic’s M.E.E.N Green is a 15-40-5 analysis and has a full complement of micro nutrients. Micro nutrients are generally used in lesser quantities than the macro nutrients (N-P-K), but are just as important for plant development and to establish a healthy, thriving plot. Many of the micro nutrients function as activators and are very rarely added back to your soil in a typical bagged N-P-K fertilizer. This easy-to-apply fertilizer can also be used to help increase the effectiveness of grass selective herbicides such as BioLogic’s new Weed Reaper.

This combination of fertilization and weed control can really clean your plot up and give those struggling perennials a good jump on the spring.
