Hey everyone, my wife has decided she wants to start shooting archery, mainly target to start but possibly hunting later, and I need your help.

We were at the RMEF Elk Camp last weekend and we visited the shoot like a girl booth where the wife finally got exposed to shooting a bow and absolutely loved it. At the booth she shot just about every bow on the market set for women, but the problem is she is left eye-dominant, and they did not have any left handed bows. Tonight, we drove 4 hours round trip to go to the closest place that had a left handed bow she could handle.

She has shot the PSE Bowmadness and Chaos, Bowtech Soldier and Diamond Razor's edge all in left handed, but also shot and liked the Bowtech Admiral and the Hoyt Vixcen that she shot in right(haven't found anyone that has them in left). The Diamond is out, but we are trying to decide where to go from here. Anyone have any ideas to help us out? I am looking to buy one in the next few weeks before the 3-d shoots start here in town and I start shooting again as she wants to go with me.

She has a 26" draw and handle 46 or so pounds so that will give you some idea as to specs and price really isn't a problem.

Thanks in advance.

Just bought the wife a PSE Chaos in pink camo (bubbles). She loves it. She has a 25" draw length and has hers set at 45 lbs. Low recoil and the price is right for a beginner.

Yeah the PSE Chaos is a really good bow to get started with. All those you've mentioned is good bows too, the best thing is to find one she really likes and shoots good to her. But let her shoot the Chaos some more!

We have actually been checking eBay lately and have found some good deals on quite a few bows, all of them new and in left handed, so we will see what we end up with.

Thanks

That was an option, but she does not like the grips on any of the Mathews she has tried, they feel to big for her hand, even the Passion.

On another note, I may have found her a 2008 Bowtech Commander in Obsession, still waiting to get more info.

I would recommend a local Pro Shop. You may pay more on the front end but likely you will have nil issues vs. trying a big box store or on-line. I did it in reverse, that is why I am a proponent of the local pro shop for bow stuff
