This neighbors son hunts out there and said it would not be any problem to set the stands there because they were on a line of very thick forest and facing out to our property. You could'nt get a shot behind you, no way. Anyhow, this treeline was on our crp field and we have had stands in the general area before with no problems and anyway it was right on the property line, facing our own land. I could see saying something if we were facing his land trying to take his opprotunities but neither of us roll like that, we have the outmost respect for other hunters and property owners. ANYHOW!!, lesson learned but now that kinda turns me into a a**O while hunting now. O' well

15 years ago, I lived in the town of Brockway PA.
At that time, there was lot's of deer and everyone got along with everyone.
There were very few posted signs and lot's of State Game Lands around to hunt on.
One place that I discovered was up on a hill where a lot of people hunted, it was right behind the glass plant. The land at one time was owned by the BR&P Coal, Iron, and coke company, the same company that owned the town from where I was born.
When the company was sold, all the land was sold and some of the land that the company did not want, they paid their timber people to log and then gave the land to the logger for cutting the timber off it. This person was land rich and money poor, because he had to pay the taxes on all the land they gave him ( 1000's of acres).
Someone got the idea of leasing land and a group of local hunters leased this land to keep the other people off. There was a family from Brockway that were garbage haulers and had ties to the mafia and sold their garbage business for Millions of Dollars. They then bought about 100 rest homes that were on the brink of foreclosure for next to nothing and also runs a business that sells heavy equipment parts. They even bought a minority share in the Pittsburgh Steelers last year and sponsored a Nascar Nationwide Series car for a couple of races.
Since they were not a part of the hunting club, and the land was posted to keep them out. They did the next best thing, they bought the land and threw the club members off the land.
This year, there was a dispute with a local neighbor who hunted on that land for many years.
The story I heard was that the owners were baiting the deer, back in the woods where you could not see them. They had the owner of the land patrolling with a four wheeler, to make sure that no one came on the land while they were illegally hunting there.
One neighbor came on the land several times with his four wheeler and illegally shot a trophy deer. Due to the political connections that the landowner has, they called the PA State Police and the Game Commission and the person involved was arrested. I am not sure if they actually took the deer off the person who shot it. But I do know that the rack is up at the local taxidermist. The owner of the land tells everyone if you want to see the rack to go up to Dellulio's and look at it.
I am sure that the State Of Pennsylvania is going to spend a pile of money on this one because the landowner is also friends with the county judge.
Basically what it all boils down to is HORN HUNTING!
When I hunt, I hunt to get. I do not care if it has 10 points or 22 points or just has 4 points on one side - which is the only legal deer we can shoot in my zone. The only thing I care about is that I can eat the meat. Not how many points it has or how big the spread is.
I think that it is stupid when people resort to hunting in teams and makes a contest out of it, like as if it even counts - how many deer you shoot or how many points they have or how big the racks are.
The only thing that matters is how good does the meat taste. if you are not going to eat it, then why shoot it.
I have boiled, fried, baked and BBQ'ed the rack and still have not found a good recipe for deer antlers.

I like HORN HUNTING. Yeah, some take it to a point where it brings out their evil side but not all folks are like that.

IR Trail cam caught my deer theif. Shot a nice buck with the bow and lost light. Decided to come back in the a.m. Searched high and low and recovered drag marks down the trail that i had placed my moultrie IR. I checked the card and game over, It turned out to be a neighbor and his son. Went to the house and confronted them. they turned over meat cut up and packaged and rack. They never came up with a reson for taking the deer but i guess they were more embarrassed than anything.

I had a similar thing happen to me and my uncle while hunting in Illinois severa years ago . We laughed about it as we walked out of the treeline and across the field to see a truck diving along the field edge . My uncle had made the comment 'there goes your deer' jokingly . Later to find out that evening while following the blood trail , nothing but a blood spot and tire tracks . We laugh about it now but it is disturbing that people would do it .
