First doe of the year. Hopefully I can add to that this coming weekend on my hunting trip in Ohio.

Congratulations, and 5 points I'm assuming..... I was going to schwack a doe Saturday morning but she turned and went the other way. Could have gotten her little 6 point friend that went by at 20 yards, but I don't like to kill the little guys.

I went out Sunday and had a half rack buck stand 2 feet from the bottom of my tree. Too small to shoot. I thought the next 30 minutes may be eventful then my cousin called and needed help with a doe he spined twice and needed help putting down before the sun was completely down. I was just glad one of us got one, plus the does need to be thinned anyway.

I thought the rut was going to ramp up a couple of weeks ago, ground was torn up with scrapes and trees as big as my thigh were starting to get shredded then a week straight of rain and nothing. My trail cam over a scrape got a 2 1/2 yr old buck and a young doe with no activity on the scrape itself, it's now completely covered in leaves along with the other four on the fourwheeler path. I had some doe urine set out for the back Sunday and it didn't even stop to smell it just kept walking like nothing was wrong at all and it was a normal Sunday. So I'm not sure what's going on.

We have hunters from PA messing everything up for us from now until gun season the 20th. They put stands up right on the property line 50 yards away. They don't like to cooperate either and they'll go there when you're there. They like to put them in bedding areas too. It's just too bad. Hopefully I'll be able to knock one down this weekend, but I'm hunting only big boys from now until shotgun season.

Good luck everyone!!!! And let's get some points up!

There was a sign up a couple of months ago. The threads at the top of the whitetail page, there were letting people sign up for teams if they got enough for another team.

After this weekend I should have a doe up at a minnimum with shotgun season coming in. Last Saturday I left my stand early because I had family from Chicago in, so I retrieved the camera this weekend, nice buck walked right by an hour later. I about puked. Chicago screwed the lower state guys again.

Second firearms season starts tomorrow so I'm going to go out. I killed a doe first season but my grandpa slapped his tag on it so he didn't have to go out anymore. Good luck to everyone, don't give up cold weather coming in they'll be hitting the food sources again and go back to earlier patterns if they're not too spooked.
