I'm going out tomorrow morning and hope to chalk one down. I've only gotten a couple of small bucks on my trail camera, but I don't normally see the big boys on my property until they break out of the bachelor groups. Two years ago when I was home from Afghanistan I encountered a double drop monster, haven't seen him since but I heard he survived last season by a few neighbors. Hopefully I'll put one up. Good luck to you all. Shouldn't we come up with a name for our team?

Good luck. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I can spend much time in the woods.

I plan on going out Saturday and Sunday. I have an in law coming down for the youth season so he's the priority, but I'm going to bring the bow just in case. Good luck to everyone.

Took the in-laws out this weekend. The moon has them moving primarily at night, sat all day and didn't see anything until 6:45. Was a small buck that spotted me at the same time I spotted it. Sunday morning I saw 2 does but didn't want to mess things up in case they were going to go up to the kid hunting on top of the field. I'm hoping two weekends from now I'll get on on the board. I'm trying to let things settle down for a couple of weekends and hope my other place gets the corn out.

Well I lost us 5 points........

Have not missed a deer in 12 years, have never lost one I shot..till Saturday.

I had six does all around me and got busted, one trotted off and the one at 12 yards trotted out to 20 yards broadside quaertering awaay.

Kisser button came off when I drew the bow.

Settled in for the shot and was perfect on vertical.

Arrow went left and hit the back side of the shoulder blade, blew through it and hit the large lump of spine bone beteen the shoulder blades.

She ran off with my fletching waving good bye.

No blood and found my arrow snapped off about 6- yards from where I shot her.

Looked the next day and could not find any blood or her.

Good news is, I have numerous deer coming in all times of the day on my camera and one really great buck and a bunch of 4 points.

Cold front coming in tomorrow...... gonna be lows in the high 40's and 60 during the day for next four days....... something is gonna die this weekend!

Here is a pic of the one I really want!

I'll be hunting tomorrow morning, for the first time this year. The weather is going to be great too....hopefully the deer agree and cooperate.

I'm looking to score on a doe before the rut hits, otherwise I'm going to have to wait until after muzzleloader season to get that easy 5 points. Well that's my hope anyway, can't ever resist the sight of a young doe standing broadside.
