I drew a Utah LE archery antelope tag in the Plateau unit, and it starts in less than 2 weeks!!! I am really excited. I could use some last minute help though, I have never hunted antelope before so any tips, advice, etc, would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to spot and stalk for the most part, what can I expect? thanks.

spot and stalk is challenging but very exciting. I would recomend using a montana decoy. intruder buck or the doe. If they don't respond to the decoys be prepared to do some belly crawling. The best advice I could give you is make sure your equipment is in top condition, practice shooting as far as you feel comfortable. You may have to take a long shot. I shot one last year in New Mexico at 80 yards with Xforce. Also be sure to wear Mossy Oak brush camo. Good luck.

Spot and stalk antelope hunting is a tough way to hunt them, their eyesight is superb and there are usually 50 sets of eys watching you as you stalk in for the kill.

Your best bet is to locate a waterhole and put up a groundblind and play the waiting game. You will have to sit for hours at a time, but this is more effective than spot and stalk.

good luck
