My favorite turkey gun has a 18" barrel. I agree that the choke has a lot more to do with your patterning than the length of the barrel. I also find the shorter barrel lengths easier to handle when on the move. Like a lot of other things it comes down to personal choice.

I'd say ditto, except I use a 21" barrel. I like it for manuverability. It's nice when trying to move through the woods with it slung over your shoulder, and lighter for holding when sitting, waiting for that tough birds to take those last few steps.

Remington 870 3" 20 inch barrel. I agree with what was said before, barrel length doesnt really factor in as much as trying different loads/chokes and getting to know how your gun shoots. To each his own with this one.

finally someone who knows about shotgun patterning this is true its also needed for deer hunting any type of hunting you have to know where your pattern is going to hit without holes in it when i taught hunter education we stressed this item hank k
