Well my season came to an end this morning @ 0620.
The temp was 30 and there was a heavy frost in Mercer Co. this morning. The birds started gobbling at 0520.
I set up as close as I dare with out spooking the gobbling birds and did manage to bump a hen off the roost.
I gave a very light series of yelps and did a fly down with my seat and he came un-glued.
I saw several birds fly down and then a Saw two fullfans. They never made a sound once on the ground.
He came to 28 steps and I talked myself through the shot. ( after two misses that is what it takes)
The show was outstanding and the drumming was unreal.
I sealed the deal and ended my season.
This season has been one of many high and lows. Lessons have been learned and memories have been made. All stored away for another time.
If you are still hunting, I am thinking it is only going to get better.
Keep after em and enjoy every moment in the woods.
Now if I can get the wife to buy my NY tags.....
11 1/4 beard
1 3/8 spurs.
