Today was the last day of the Spring Turkey season in Indiana.
Me and my buddy Romer, went down to Sullivan County (huntin' and campin') and got on a BUNCH of birds this weekend! I killed this young Tom today, and my buddy wound up missing 2 birds after we had harvested mine. There were GOBBLERS EVERYWHERE first thing this morning, and a LOUD hen roosted up in front of us about 60-70yds. She was NOT happy that we (other hens) were in her spot! LOL
I do want to thank Mike for helping me take this bird of mine! It took great teamwork and determination to draw him in. It was a looong distance he had to come down the edge of this grass/weed field. We called and watched him for about 30mins before he got close enough for a shot!! We also walked off the distance, to where I dropped the bird in his tracks.............. 68yds!!! NO KIDDING! Mossberg 3 1/2" Magnum #4's.
Anyhoo, here is my last day Indiana Spring Turkey for '09.

Great bird BOWBO, at least he ain't all wet, spent 9 days gone out of state and wore a slicker for 7 of them, miserable, had to hold on to my blind to keep it from flying away, can't wait till next year, wished it opened up again tomorrow.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck mountman! That's definitely not good weather for chasing gobblers.
Yeah, this ain't no monster Tom by any means...... but he'll certainly do for the LAST day of the season!
