this is a state issued smith and wesson model 99 i fired state issued ammo only ever and it done this

I haven't seen it first hand, but I've heard stories about S&W poly guns blowing up like that. Seems Glock has the poly gun market sewed up.

Have heard of it but never seen it!! That is tottaly screwed up. They better get it fixed before someone gets a heck of a laceration or worst and they have a lawsuit!!

That is not a pretty sight! I assume you have contacted S&W about this and are working with them for a resolution to the problem? I hope you were not injured in the event.

I have shot an H&K USP 40 for several years and have ran at least 4000 rounds through it without a single failure. If you have never tried one, give it a shot, it may take a little getting used too but it's a very nice and virtually indestructible weapon. You can run over it, drop it in the mud and it will still fire.

Be honest with ya I like the springfield 1911 in the 45 cal. Seems to always work out pretty good. Granted might be a nice chunk of change but its well worth it!!!

I have a sig pro SP2022 in 40 cal. that has never failed me yet and will eat any amo I have put through it.
