My pops wouldn't give me a fair shake on a hands me down gun. Yep, kind of man who wants to see his son work for the gun. He always have a saying: If I give you things that I worked so hard for, how are you going to learn by not going to work, earn nothing and expect everything's free? You guys are lucky for getting me hands me down. Winchester 1400 range master is a nice gun...good luck finding the parts for it. I know there's a gunsmith nearby my place that'll accept you give'em a call, mail in your gun, explain the problems, they get right to work right there. Just a thought, hamer.

That's hilarious how things work out for a reason. You must be blessed to have'em guns from your pops. I know I ain't giving my shotgun to one of my boys. I'll tell'em this: drop dead, earn your money, and go buy your own.

Since you posted pics, I did a quick search and found a bunch of stocks for that gun. Obviously your local gun dealer is a lop and does'nt wanna look to hard. Here's a deal on a black synthetic....http://cgi.ebay.com/Winchester-1400-Stock-Black-Synthetic-Ram-Line-NIB_W0QQitemZ180173923134QQcmdZViewItemQQptZGun_Parts?_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116

On the other hand why not fix it? Get some regular automotive body filler and build that nick up till it contours with the but plate, sand it down and get a couple of camo spray bombs from napa and make up your own camo job for about $15 total.

This one had a piece missin in the same spot that I fixed a 5-6 years ago and painted satin black, same gun just kicked it up a notch last fall with some new "bling".
