I've had the same problems with the past WB I put on my previous bow, gobble. Until a buddy of mine set up both of my brand spanking new Hoyts, to be specific, WB DeadShot @ almost 70 bucks a pop. Told him he was NUTS for making me put up shooting my arrows through WB again. He offered me discount and told me to shoot through first 50 times and see what happens. I did that. It shot great groups. This year at Trophy Ridge, they took the criticism very seriously and took it to another level on the WB design. I've shot my arrows with 2" Blazer Vanes through it. It is MUCH MUCH quieter on this very very improved WB DeadShot. I thought I was LOSING speed by 4-6 FPS from my previous experience.

Here's the twist here, fellas. A buddy of mine who set up my bow tried to experiment Trophy Taker Pronghorn Micro-Adjust, Trophy Ridge DropZone Hunter and Trophy Ridge WB DeadShot before making a decision. He mentionned that only 1 FPS loss on the Trophy Ridge WB DeadShot after showing me the videotape of my bows. I was really surprised and pleased to stick with it. Enough said. Just thought I would share it with y'all fellas from my recent findings by going through my new bows arrow rest set-ups before it was given to me out the door. It is nice to know that my bows were well-taken care of. Otherwise a buddy of mine wouldn't let me take my bows out of his shop if he knows that he didn't do the job right the first time.

I yse the Carbon Express Maxima, and Easton Epic ST. topped with slick trix on the Maxima and G5 Strikers on the Epics. Use to shoot Goldtip arrows I think those will be my choice again next time.

I was thinking of upgrading my arrow, NYT. Beman ICS Hunter Elite. Toughest arrows out there. Beman's owned by Easton. Even though I got a couple of Easton ST Axis bounced off the trees after taking my shots at'em bucks. Didn't have any problems at all. Still shoot straight. Only problem that I have with Easton ST Axis is the HIT inserts are way inside the arrows. If you shoot'em and hit it on the tree, it'll split up real bad. However, with deflections, no problems.

Just talked it over with a buddy of mine at Schaffer Archery Performance at Burnsville, MN with the concerns of hitting impact of arrows on the tree if that happens again. He highly recommends Beman ICS Hunter Elite, looking at $140-160 for a dozen because he have'em and says they're the TOUGHEST arrows around. HMM....am having reservations about that, NYT, on that price. *chuckles* With the economy these days...we all gotta take a chance.[/quote]

I would try the Easton ST Axis FMJ before switching to the Beman ICS. The reason you are having an issue with your prior Axis model is, it's the carbon version of the Axis, so now try the FMJ version and you will not have the problem of a split or shattered tip!
I found this out this spring with my son. I had purchased a Bowtech Tribute with all the bells & whistles from a freind because we thought I was ready to move from the crossbow to the compound after the accident. Turns out the arm still can't handle it, so my son had started to show a great deal of interest in the sport has now taken it and has worked really hard on learning all he can about this great thrill of archery. In that process, he has smached up a lot of those ST Axis arrows that I had gotten with the bow. Now that he has not only some consistancy but some money to pay for some things, he has made the change to the Axis FMJ's and is very happy with the change.
