I have a been hunt booked for spring and the guide recommends slugs, this is my first bear hunt so need some options. Slug gun is no big deal because I have hunted deer for years and use federal cooper barnes expanders. Will these be good for a black bear?

If it's a 12 gauge, think about it...we're talkin' the equivalent of a .70 caliber rifle round. If that ain't sufficient...you don't really have too many more options available as far as more power is concerned. Most guys I know that bear hunt with a shotgun use Brenneke's but if you're gun is already sighted in for them shells then use what you're comfortable with by all means... Enjoy yourself and good luck....& be safe out there with them beens...

| Hi Button Buck: We Hunt Bears here in Eastern NC and the favored weapon is a 12 Ga with slugs. Get in close and a well aimed shot in the chest or head will fold him. Yard
