I bought a set of Midland 2 way radios to use on our recent relocation. They are Mossy Oak camo of course, have a 30 mile range, water proof, weather, all the bells and whistles. After we moved, I get to lookin at the manual, and it says I have to get a license from the FCC to operate on the bulk of the channels. Didnt say anything about it on the packaging. Anyone else have a set like this? And if so, did you actually get the license?

No, you don't have to worry about it. No one ever does.
We have the same exact radios.

FCC laws only require a license to TRANSMITon certain radio bands!
Back in 1945 or 1947 the US Gooberment passed a law that allows all US Citizens to receive any/all "radio signals".
There has never been any enforcement on transmitting because it would be cost prohibitive. Maybe obama will fund the enforcement now.....we'll have to wait & see!

Read into it a little more and understand it. The transmit power level is different for some channels and this will effect your range. The FCC tries to regulate transmissions over a particular power level in this band.
