Buy your spices from specialty cooking sites. The spices are way fresher than any McCormick,

or any of the other usual suspects. You will be very happy with the fact you spent a little more money for so much more flavor.

I have a metal container that held Chili powder from when we owned our hunting camp.

As far back as my memory can go, I can always remember this container being on the spice rack of the hunting camp. French's Chili Powder.

I will never throw it away. Too many memories!

The other day, I was making some deer meat chili and I took the last couple of teaspoons of powder out of the can and it tasted just as good as the chili that I ate at the camp over 10 years ago.

In my opinion - if the spices are dried, they never go bad.
