Depends on how steep the angle is...I'm no pro but I doubt 20 ft up is going to make a difference.
Just remember its the distance from the critter to the base of the tree that you want to shoot for...just range from the bottom of the tree to a point and then climb and range the same point.
There's your difference.

If the ground around you is fairly flat it won't make much difference. However if your 20 ft. up and shooting downhill the "actual yardage" will be different. I have one stand that a non angle compensating range finder says 30 yards but it is actually 22 yards. When your in the stand range straight out to a tree instead of at a downward angle towards the base of the tree or simply range from the ground.
