Okay, Day 9 was Sunday AM, had the blind and the bow out and there were 2 toms in the field to the east, same as usual but again they wouldn't come to calls...
This is where it gets good..
I'm going to log on at dark 30 in the AM and check to see where I should hunt...
You all are going to give me direction, since I can't ever make it happen...
two choices
1. Set up blind & bow in the field where HTH and I saw a tom, there were two in the same field with hens...with this option is to bring decoys or not, I have Jake, B-Mobile & hen. I have not hunted this field at sun up.
2. Set up with shotgun in the woods to the south east of where I was on Day 9 in hopes of cutting the birds off on their way to feed. No decoys or blind, just camo and shotgun. I've hunting the field and birds, not through the woods.
YOU MAKE THE CALL!

Nerd...use a scatter gun with decoys in a blind near the edge of the woods. After you drop a bird you'll be more relaxed because you have one under your belt, then I say take the bow from then on.
Then I want to see you hunt turkeys with a bow and without a blind.

You didn't have a real good option...
Set up like you say you're gonna for bow, but take the shotty as Jason suggested. AND, just put out the hen! Since them gobblers is still paired up, I don't know that they are so amped up to compete with your gobbler/jake...
Don't put the hen out if they can see it from roost (assuming you can see where they are roosted) Don't call until fly down if you can help it. No more than a VERY LITTLE putt putt as close t fly down as you can predict.
I look forward to the outcome...

I must have missed the whole wind thing in the forcast...only thing that didn't happen was to have the blind roll accross the field. Think the turkeys will talk to ya after the blind almost flips over and rotates 180 because I only have one hand on it and one hand on my bow?
Nope!
Then as I leave for work, my thoughts were confirmed, they took a different route and were even closer to my house than they have ever been..
makes me

Nerd...you ever think of taking up cross-stitch? Just curious, I hear it is really relaxing and they make wonderful Christmas gifts...
