| My 7 yr old son has a 28 guage wingmaster with a full choke barrel. the stock is cut off to fit but the barrel is too long for him to handle. That has cost him a couple of turkeys this spring being he can not shoot unless it is on a rest. my question is what will change if i cut the barrel down and rechoke it? Also, it is a blued finish, can that be refinished with a matte finish like the 870's are? THANKS FOR OPINIONS!!!!

I would buy him a new shotgun personally.

If you cut the barrel back and have it rechoked, which can be done for less than a new barrel, all you'd lose would be a tad bit of velocity (maybe). If he's shooting 2 3/4" shells he won't be losing that much.

FL_Cracker (4/24/2008) I would buy him a new shotgun personally.
Can't go wrong with that advice. Save the wingmaster till
he's older.
