ok , what lessons did yall learn this year.
my list goes,
1. if you brag too much on your dog he will eventually make you look foolish
2. canvasbacks [when spooked ] are very very very fast.
3.icy water [ in your waders] is still as cold as it was last year.
4.it doesn't matter if there is 100 birds committed , my two buddies and me are gonna shoot the same bird.
5.when you add it all up duck meat is at least $50 a pound
6. It is a gift from GOD just be there .
7. can't wait til next year.
When 90% of the ducks are killed by 10% of the hunters , It ain't luck..

You don't have to pee until you get UP in your tree stand. (This increases with frequency after you hit 50)

I learned that its hard to find a wader that doesn't eventually leek!!!But that you can use a good ole heafty garbage sack to fill the void!!! Sprig, I would have liked to see you hit the ice just 1 more time!!!

heres my list
1:more deeks = more work
2:if the birds aint flyin get out of the blind for any reason and they will be there
3:I love to take my dad but he will always screw up at least one flock of committed birds(maybe ill be old some day)
4:no body has any ideas where to go or how to set up untill after a bad day
5:every one wants to go hunting untill 5 am rolls around
6:If i go duck hunting ill see deer if i go deer hunting ill see ducks
7:Even if my dad moves and my budies are late the time in the blind is priceless

All good lessons.
I'll add another. There's not much cooler than taking your kid hunting and watch them witness things for the first time. (Even if it is a slow day, they don't seem to mind. Just like being out there.) I know some older hunters that could benefit from that philosophy.
