Has anyone here ever shot pop up targets.?

Im headed to a Bass Pro shoot friday and saturday with pop up targets.. Max yardage from with i understand is 25yds with the targets only being up for 5-6 seconds tops. It may sound easy but my shot sequence alone is longer than that.. Im curious to see how many arrows i end up wiht..

You only have to qualify in one event inorder to shoot the championship.

All these shoots are in Charlotte, NC ..

Here is some info..

Aug. 10th 1pm-6pm
Aug. 8-10th is the BassPro Shops Fall Classic.
Aug. 10th is the Championship Shoot. All other dates are qualifiers,
of which you must shoot at least one of these dates to qualify.
You can shoot any date and as much as you would like.

Is anyone near the Charlotte, NC area here..?

It's awesome. I have shot it here and I promise at the end of your round your chest will be pumping. Ours was max 35 yards though.

Well all im back.. It was a great trip. We meet up with a ton of good guys.. Some fellas i have been meaning to meet up with for a few months now..

Only down side was i didnt get but one pic of us eating dinner at Hooters Friday night.(we were in there for like 4hrs..haha). But if anyone knows me i hardly go anywhere without a camera so i was kind of upset about that.. It just didnt cross my mind until i wanted it and didnt have it..

The shoot was a blast though. It was $10 to qualify and i spent a nice chunck of change lets just put it that way..haha

Friday me and my buddies spent like 6 hrs in Bass Pro Shops watching and shooting.. The first slow round was 6 pop up targets and 1 stationary. You had to shoot the 1 stationary before your last pop up fell. This was quite easy to do. The FAST 2nd round was difficult. Here you had 5 pop ups and you shot the stationary twice..

Now the first shot on the stationary was a give me shot.. The clock didnt start till you shot the 1st arrow.. But you had to hit it again before your 5th pop-up fell. Talk about quick.. There isnt any finding the 12 ring.. Its get on the vitals and shot, load, shot again..

Your shaking trying to hurry.. It was nuts. First round was 98 for me.. 2 zeros and a target i never got a shot at.. Not very good at all..

From there i improved and was holding 4th when we left early this afternoon.. Highest scorer shot a 130.

The last shoot i did i had an equiptment failure due to my rest coming loose.. In the few min i had to fix it i got it set close and shot another low round with 106. Highest possible is a 168-14X.

Ive got a 118 right now which isnt good but i was happy since it was my first shoot ever like this..

I think the ticket would to use a WB, 1 pin sight and shoot from the string.. If you could get reloaded FAST without any problems you would have the best chance.. Next time..

The next qualifer is in june, Id like to make it back but the Monster bash in MI is priority around that time.. We will see how it goes.. There is another qualifier in August followed by the BPS Fall Classic and the Championship shoot.. Only Time will tell..

Now the Phoneix sure got some attention.. When i first walked in to check in my Epuip. The fella at the door was completely perplexed at what was in my hand.. haha..we got a big crack out of that.. All night long it was nothing but questions..

Then there is always the couple guys who do the comparison with Oneida and think they know it all.. These guys crack me up.. I did slightly change their views on the bow. .haha.. When i tell ppl there is a night a day difference and they actully get to see and hear it in action it doesnt take long before they realize this baby is in a class of its OWN..

There is a bow shop locally to me that has a pop up range....I have avoided it.

I have bad target panic - where I just HAMMER the trigger!

I moved to backtension and MAKE myself take the time to shoot right...so pop ups are out for me.
