Not sure about a contest...not sure how one would be run, beard and spur size?

Welcome.....

Not too keen on turkey contests around here.... we got burned pretty good 2 years ago and had to do ALOT of diffusing angry members...

I find that alot of people tend to make the rounds on several forums now and August to get signed up for turkey and deer contests...hope to win some cool prizes....but don't contribute to the forums in any other way....

A spring turkey contest is something us Mods will have to talk about I suppose....but they know where I stand

We put one together a few few years ago at another site. It is all for fun, and we have had absolutely no problems.

Pictures have to be supplied of:

bird on a scale for weight

Beard length with a tape measure

and spurs on a tape measure.

Weight, beard length and spur length is added together for points.

However, I can understand if you guys don't want to deal with the occaisional "goober" that generally gets in.

I would be interested if we did do something. I know the NWTF has a scoring system for turks. Maybe combine the scores off of the best birds for a team and do it like that.

Here are the links:
