My #1 complaint is SPEED THINGS UP! I get tired of stairing at a gray screen pretty much every time I click on something. If it takes to long to surf this place people will move on.
Besides that at least get the basic functions working and working properly.

I think any input from the folks at MO would benifit everyone...guest speakers would be grand idea...MO seems to partner with Uncle Ted, get him on here for a hour or two!
The quote and edit features would be super! I don't notice much on the speed issue but thats not to say others don't see a problem.

Jason really did a great job of covering the main things. I will attempt to add to a few of his with my spin or to narrow the request.
1) The functionality of the forum: Having posted on many forums, both outdoors and online gaming, and have actually had a hand in building a few; I support Jason's comments he made. Many of the functions, which appear to be available while we write our posts, do not work. This is a glitch and if the forum builders (not MO, but InstantForum.NET) should be able to get this stuff working. Otherwise, I will be happy to get Mossy Oak connected to other vendors. There are Free and pay forums that function better than this one currently does.
I am here because i have gotten used to the group and enjoy the folks here. But agree with Jason that for a forum new person, this forum is not user friendly. This no doubt causes user to not register and post or just leave.
2) Pro-Staff: My only suggestion here would be to create a forum for, "Questions to Cuz", or "Questions to the MO Pros". This way, the "Pros" do not have to visit every forum if they are busy, and folks posting know that at some point the Pros should see the post.
3) Give-away/contests always draw a crowd. Monthly, quarterly, whatever. I like the forum trivia type Dan used to have, it rewarded those regulars and challenged the newer folks to dig a little. Only issue? See comment #1.
4) What I liked about some other forums was that Moderators were chosen who were knowledgeable in that area. (i.e. A couple of knowledgeable waterfowlers moderated that forum, Turkey on the turkey, bow on the Archery.) This put guys who could answer/help new folks over the forum they had the most to offer to and gave a goto name to new folks visiting with that interest. It also spread the responsibilities out across moderators.
That's all I have right now. Address #1 first and foremost. After that, the rest is gravy.

ill agree with the slowness of the site and when you post,edit or quote sometimes it gets put in the wrong thread. that drives me crazy
and jason to me hit alot of good ideas
have a monthly drawing of some sort
pro staffers to answer ? would be great
i think all the topics are good cant think of anything to add in that sub.

How about Mike Hanback? He's a Pro....He's got a column there everyday - and ALOT of users interact with him by leaving comments....kinda like a forum without the forums....do they post here? NOPE...No need to! Go ahead - look under the "Features" section of the main page - each blog and column has tons of comments from registered users here that don't post in the Forums...
We have had a HUGE influx of new members since the new site launched - and they have posted here....once or twice....and they we never hear them again...cause it's a pain in the neck to post. Or maybe they get scared away from the nonsense...who knows.....
We all know what is wrong here...we can't fix it....Joe can only do so much....
More Mods? I disagree - Cracker and Blazin are doing their best to help - but there isnt enough need for more Mods yet...
Like I said - we all know what we need,....

Easy Hammer! Your just upset about the button I added don't work either I agree with everyones ideas, but I think the most important one is to get the board working like it should to make it easier to post. I'm guessin you'd see more participation..........

I don't know fellas. The forum seems to work great for me. I can deal with the quote thing not working, but that's really the only thing I see wrong. Hell, it even goes right to the forums now and not to the Mossy Oak website first.
I definitely don't think it needs more moderators...

You are right Oz - same program - but theirs is really, really nice - with alot of features we dont have activated in use.....Very nice.
