Was using my Spypoint Tiny-W to try and catch some deer movement on a bench when this bachelor group showed up. It was very foggy that day and so dark that the IR cam one causing a great "ghost" like picture set

Dear Spypoint,

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for making a great product! I'm not a hunter. But I have a home under construction, over Christmas it was vandalized on 2 separate occasions, along w/the people starting a fire in my house, on my concrete slab. That situation prompted me to order some "game cams". Not knowing what style or type to order, I went on line to Gander Mountain. Saw the Tiny-W's and figured those would be great cause I can hide those side units/boxes.

Needless to say, I stopped by this past Saturday morning to check on my house (1/14). As I walked in I noticed camera's 1 and 2 were gone BUT they didn’t notice the side units. Then in the garage I noticed the side unit was gone but they did not get camera #3. They had started another fire in my house and used my blue prints and cabinet book plans as lighting paper. I was praying to God that the side units stored the pictures ok. Sure enough, I have the two kids on camera standing there watching the fire burn inside my house. Then I have a pic of the male suspect noticing my camera, then I have a nice picture of his shoes as he is walking away with my camera. I lost 2 cameras in the incident, but that’s worth the price getting these kids caught and dealt with!!

Thanks again for a great product….here is a photo for you to enjoy. This kid and his girlfriend, watching my room blaze on fire as it emitted enough light for a nice color photo to be taken of them.

Here is a follow up...

The two in the pictured told on a 3rd person (female) that was involved, she was charged with 1 count of arson, 1 count of grand theft, and 1 count of burglary. The two in the picture were charged with 2 counts of arson, 2 counts of burglary, and 1 count of grand theft each. The girls were released to their parents. The boy since he has multiple offenses is going to spend at least 6 months behind bars. We just had out court date yesterday.

The boy pictured has been causing all kinds of problems in our community too. While detained the boy admitted to driving on the golf course in his truck, trying to break in to other structures too.

I set up my Spypoint Pro-X trail camera on a very high point in the hopes of catching a passing bear or bobcat. I did not have any luck in that regard but did have this cute little doe come by and hang out for a while. I forgot to spray scent killer as I left like I usually do so she spent over 7 minutes smelling every little branch and leaf in the area

I have been running cameras for six weeks on this piece of property with not a whole lot of luck. This last set was the best place on the property with 370 pics, only 1/2 of which were cows

Cowhorn w/ Kicker

Was a slow week for me with pics. Trying to figure out the deer on a new piece of property since I removed all my cameras from public lands. This one cow horn with a kicker sure liked walking by several cameras though. Have him here plus on down the mountain at another set.

Moved some cameras around and have high hopes for later this week. One spot was covered in deer sign and I am biting at the bit to check that come Saturday

Mountain Lion in NY

I just checked my trail cam in western, NY on a piece of property me and my buddies just leased for 5 years. On the cam i got several pics over some mineral and salt licks. One of the animals that came out was a mountain lion on the run. This thing was running through the woods and the only part of the animal i see is from the front left shoulder all way through his tail and back. Did anyone here ever encounter one of these animals? Should i be over cautious as they are very sneaky creatures? Will this ruin my white tailed deer oppurtunity as scaring away the deer? Thanks for the input guys!!!

My Jaw dropped when i checked my cam. 1st and only time we've seen this deer. These are from a couple years ago. No one claimed to have shot him....Hopefully this year we get a shot.. The second one is a video.

Pulled the card from a Spypoint IR-6 today that had been soaking for two weeks. Was happy to finally see antler pics and daylight pics. This is the same tree I had another brand camera on that would white out all day light pics.

I've had the cam for about two days. I ordered directly from Primos in Flora MS. I've been moving the settings around and trying the best Settings for me. I am fortunate as that I live out in the country by State land and that i don't have to travel far to Scout for Critters. A lot of the Critter's come down to my house. So it's easier to go through the pics and change the settings, if needed. I found the Instructions to be easy and the Words on the Cam itself self explanatory. I placed the 4 batteries in and a 4 GB SD Card. this cam take Pics and vids Both Day and Night. The only thing that i was partially concerned with was the Shutter noise others on here commented about. On a Quiet day, I can hear the shutter click about 10-15 feet away. As soon as the winds kinda picked up i no longer could hear the Shutter click. In Two days, i was able to take roughly 100 pics of Animals. I had the cam set on 3 Multi Shot mode every 10 seconds with the Sensor set on Normal. I did have three pics of the CRP field with no Animals in it from strong winds blowing the vegetation around. When i placed the sensor on HIGH. Now i have it back to 3 Multi Shot burst with the NORMAL Sensor, for photo's with a delay of 1 minute. I am very happy with the camera now and it is now placed somewhere on a mountain side ready to take pics. I will retrieve it sometime on Monday and switch out the SD card. if all goes well for the location. I will switch it over to Video and see if i can get a Good size buck to come into view. All i did was place the cam on a Deer trail that funnels down to Squeeze point where deer need cross a Low fence to get to a Alfalfa field.

I am very glad I bought bear safes with my two new cameras. Went to check on a cam today that had been chewed, licked and clawed. 11 gauge steel box kept the camera safe The master lock python cable has some teeth marks but survived as well.

Been getting pics of some decent bucks behind the house. I know one is back from last year for sure. But we'll get to him in a little bit..

First up is a nice yearling 7 point who looks to have potential if he can avoid getting hit by a car:

Next is what looks to be a solid 3 year old 7 point. He looks like he could become something with a few more years, but he'll certainly be hard to pass up. We'll see what he looks like after the velvet comes off. Tine length, spread and mass all look good. Lets just see if he can keep the mass after shedding velvet. This was the first and last time I got pics of him:

And now finally we get to the pinnacle of my trail cam pics so far this summer...

A few months ago I got this pic and saw what looked to be the big wide forkhorn I passed up a few times last year:

Then I went just about a month and a half without him showing his face again... til I got these pics... it was him.... or so I thought...

At first I was kind of upset that he wasn't the big wide fork he was the year before, but then a few days later guess who made a guest appearance? Yup. The Wide Forkhorn.

Anyone care to throw an age out there on this buck? I know he's atleast a 3.5 year old. He has a body like a horse, a sagging belly and muscular brisket, but long legs. I can't quite put an age on him. Anyone ever seen a whitetail forkhorn this wide before? Well, I know these are the breeder bucks in PA but thats another story.

How to post a picture

I just brought this over from the old forum.

If anyone is having problems posting a pic. Follow these steps and maybe it will help.

1. Save the pictures on your computer in a place where you can easily find them.

2. Go to www.photobucket.com and register an account.

3. Once you have your account, you have several different options on what size to make your picture. If you look under "Uploading Options" you will see different sizes. I use "Message Board" (640 X 480).

4. Once you have the size you need, click on "Browse" and find the image(s) that you had previously saved on your computer. You can do this by double clicking on the file name. If you want to upload multiple images, click on "Add More Images."

5. Once you have selected your image(s) click on the "Upload" option. Once you do this, you should see your image with three things under it. "Url" "Tag" and "Img" codes.

6. Go to www.MossyOak.com and start a new topic or reply to a topic. Type whatever you need to say about the picture and then copy and paste the "Img" code into the box. It is easier to do this if you have 2 screens pulled up at the same time. One for Mossy Oak and the other for Photobucket.

7. The last thing to do is hit the "Post New Topic" button at the bottom of the screen. If you are not sure you did it correct, hit the "Preview Post" button and it will give you a preview of what your post will look like.

I have a lot of nice pictures from this deer in 2008 and now in 2009. I've posted last year's picture for comparison. Last year early season he traveled with another bigger 11 point. This year he's been hanging out with a 4x2 messed up cull buck. I hope the other 11 pt made it. I've only had my two cameras out for 2 weeks. 1180 pictures on one and 450 on the other. I'm going to keep Duracell in business with that many pictures.

The Velvet is Gone

as of this past weekend, the deer here have started losing velvet, a buddy of mine killed a nice 8 point which was solid bone monday and here's a few pictures of this same 6 pointer i've been capturing on camera for quite some time now...

The two stick looking horns to the left. Are they something that is glaring of a limb or is it antlers? Theres also no limbs that thick to the left of the camera, But let me have some opinions.

Velvet shedding Kansas bucks

I am from Kansas and we have had some tremendous luck this summer with our trail cams. This last week we took pictures of some big deer shedding their velvet. Took a card out of a camera today, after looking through all the doe, fawn, turkey & 1.5 year old buck pics I found this guy....Looks to be a decent deer, hopefully I can get some more pics of him before season comes in. Notta giant, but a pretty decent deer. Is Oct. 1st ever gonna get here??

Went and pulled a card tonight....had 5 different bucks on there, 2 were 1.5 year olds "4 pt & 7pt", had a nice 8pt that I think is 2.5 years old and will make a stud in a few years, had deer that I think is 3.5 that's but ugly and the 2 in the pics I'm posting here...Pretty sure they are both 3.5 year old bucks. They get a free pass from me, I'm not planning on trying to shoot either one of them.
