Addison and I got up early this morning and headed out to a local tailwater for a little trout fishing. We caught between 20 and 30 fish ranging around 14 inches in a couple of hours of fishing but keep only 7 to bring home and fry up. I meant to get some pics of the fish all fried up but they got ate as soon as they came out of the pan. I did manage to get a pic of one for the final shot...LOL...had cole slaw, fresh tomato and cucumber, french fries and strawberry ice cream for dessert

Some of my buddies and I went offshore in the Gulf on Sunday and had a pretty good day.

Ended up with 10 grouper, including 1 Scamp Grouper (no that's not what they make Shrimp Scampi out of either... )

Several Sea Bass & Bluestriped Grunts

One small but decent Kingfish (several hookups that got cut off)...

We also hooked up with a big ole Jew Fish (or Goliath Grouper if you want to be PC about it)... My buddy Vance and I had to take turns fighting it. He finally broke us off (literally) and our line off after about 40 minutes. I'm not sure why we decided to wrestle with a 300 pound fish that was content on the bottom of the ocean but it was fun as hell anyway...

We also caught a bunch of Grouper that day...

My in law's just got back from a fishing trip up on Lake Ontario....they go every year.

My M-I-L told me today that my Father in Law has planned a trip in 2009 with me included for.....

Or is everyone busy chasing turkeys? I've been out the last 4 days and have done ok. I've taken about 20 bass out of my pond along with 3 bluegill, and a few bass and bluegill from another farm pond. I tried my luck at the state forest I live near this morning and had no luck there. Bank fishing there is pretty difficult.

Time to put my filets in the freezer! Anyone else had any luck???

well since turkey season is out, i decided to try out my pond, cought a pretty good mess .. i was using just a hook and crickets and i would catch a couple shad and the largemouth bass would get them before i could, here's the results:

i don't know how much this bass weighed but it was a monster! i did keep some fish, not this one considering it's probably a big breeder...

This is one of my best friends that I hunt and fish with quite a bunch. He's been on lucky streak the last year and since I was with him when he caught it, I thought I'd post the pics, which hardly do this fish justice. This fish was 6 pounds which is unheard of for our area.

My son Buck09 graduates in 2009 and we are looking for a outfitter in Canada or Alaska for a fishing trip has anyone had any GOOD experiences with any guides or resorts. I am starting to look on the internet now. Probably hit some of the outdoor fishing expo's this winter but I thought I would run it by the gool ole boys club here. You guy's are a great source of knowledge .

Well heres the scoop...

I volunteered for a deployment to afghanistan the end of april becasue it was a short assignment. 4 1/2 months.. For our command them assignments dont come down often.. Anyway before i left i did as much fishing and shooting as much as i could.. Two days before i left a caught a nice largemouth and decided to get it mounted for my going away present.. then my buddy caught one alomst a pount lighter the next day and we took that one in to.. Both fish were caught out of a small pond that we wade wiht a max depth of around 5ft.....

heres mine just at around 7 1/2 lbs..

heres my buddies at almost 7 lbs..

Both are long and skinny....With a very cool story..

P.S. my buddy and four other co-workers are in iraq for the next 8 months....

I guided a couple guys from Delaware yesterday and while I was fixing one guys reel I caught this. I would have handed the rod back to him but they both had good fish on already so I had to bring this one in myself.
