Aww,I did a search to find out how to build my own arrow saw and it brought me to this thread but all pics are gone.

I'm told you should only cut carbon arrows with a water wheel! They say the carbon dust can cut your lungs up.

Very nice again BowBo.. Mine is looks very close to yours, except not portable...i mounted it to my bench them put the yard stick and the blocks down.Been using it for a year now...... And mine did come with the carbide blades..supprised your didnt..

We got a Harbour Freight about 10 miles from the house......one of my favorite places to shop!

have recip and band saw from them, plus angle grinders and lots of other stuff that i use a lot

By the way Jason...... my saw came with metal blades. So I had to buy new cutting wheels (fiber/carbide... whatever they are).... for cutting the carbon arrows with.

Yeah, I was going to order the one from BPS but everytime I call I get a responce of "Its on backorder until the middle part of next week". Sounds like to me that is a carbon copy answer. They only ordered 1 saw and advertised in their mag, now they can't get one is what happened!!

You can make the table part out of just about anything! You can use some type of wood and just cover it in felt, that is what I was going to do at first....

The arrow holding blocks are made from a block form of nylon.... basically hard plastic. I drilled them out to the diameter of the FAT X-cutters, then cut them in half..... to make two arrow holding blocks. They do not have to be perfect size to the arrow being used. Just make sure the radius is large enough to handle any arrow shaft you may want to cut in the future.

Then sanded them down to perfect height and width of what I wanted.

Drill a hole thru your arrow holding blocks (dead center of the "U") for the screw that you will be using.

Square up and center your yard stick in line to the saw resting spot/clamping mechanism, and to the blade. Use some kind of clamps to hold yard stick in proper position once it is sqared!

Then square up and hold your arrow holding block on the yard stick, and center punch thru the hole you drilled (thru the holding block) on the yard stick. Then drill a hole thru the yard stick and table material.

If using metal for your table, then tap the hole for the screw you're going to use. Once drilled and tapped, then counter sink the hole in the "U" for the screw head to sit below the arrow resting point in the bottom of the "U"..... then screw the block to the yard stick and table material, securing everything.

The bottom of the "U" in the holding blocks should be level with the resting spot on the saw! And as you can see here, both holding blocks down the line are in perfect alignment and height.

THAT'S IT!! NOTHING TO IT!

Well, I did it........... I made my own Arrow Cut-Off Saw & Table!!!

I've got about $23 - $25 TOTAL in it!

The 7,800 RPM mini cut-off saw was on sale at Harbor Freight Tools for $19.99 (reg. $23.99).... and I bought an aluminum yard stick for $2.99. That's all I've got in it. The rest of the materials came from my work!

Here is the set-up.....................

A piece of 1/4" thick aluminum stock plating:

The mini cut-off saw:

Drilled and tapped the aluminum stock to mount the saw:

Used some blocked nylon stock for the arrow holding cradles, cut and drilled them:

Nicely machined down the nylon stock:

Drilled, tapped, and countersunk screws through the nylon arrow cradles, through the aluminum yard stick, and into the aluminum table to make everything stationary:
