Unless you do a lot of goose hunting I would stay away from the 3.5. No turkey that ever walked needs to be killed that dead. If you need to shoot farther it is easier to work on your calling. The 3.5's are not to much fun to shoot up in the air out of a blind either. That added half pound won't feel like much in the store, drag it a couple miles looking for pheasants. My 3 inch 870 has done everything I have ever needed.

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

Get yourself a Mossberg 500 and be done with it. It's lightweight, short, and packs a deadly punch (shoots up to 3.5 inch shells and slugs). Not to mention that you can get one in full Mossy Oak Obsession camo with a great choke for right around $300 from Walmart. It will last you a lifetime...

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

Remington 870 Super-Mag will shoot any shell, plus the best selection of screw-in chokes. Only real downside in my opinion is the recoil if you shoot 3.5" shells. Any pump gun with the long shells will really cross your eyes!

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

my all around gun, an 835 ultramag, sports a polychoke2, for instant choke adjusting on the fly, with a polychoke and different ammo she covers all bases. I use other guns for more specific hunts but for everything in general its the 835 and poly.

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

Get a Remington 870 super. The shot barrel will take 3 1/2 shells and can change choke tubes. Get the combo and you'll get the rifled slug barrel also. I've had mine sence 1995 and never have had a problem.

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

Get you a 12 Gauge 3 1/2" Auto /Or Pump & you will cover everything...From Ducks to Bucks.

Gauge

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

I use a Mossburg 500 in .12 ga. for the upland birds. Not in to
waterfowl and haven't tried it on turkey yet. Barrel change is a
snap and can be done in the field if you want more than 26 inches.
Barrels are not too pricey for this model and they all come with good
selection of choke tubes.
RE: All in 1 Shotgun
RD_Archer (2/1/2008)
Hey guys I'm looking for a little advice on my next purchase. I'm looking at getting a shotgun and I was wondering if there was one out there that serves as a all in 1. I turkey, duck, and upland game hunt. I was looking for something that I could use any time with a quick change of the choke. Thanks for your help
Don't know how much of each type game you hunt but if you would use the gun mostly for Turkey and Waterfowl, you may want to buy a gun that shoots 3 1/2" shells. However this type gun would be heavier to carry all day walking after upland game. I have a Browning Gold 3 1/2" 12 gauge, great gun for Turkey, Ducks and Geese, but is a liitle heavy in both gauge and weight for upland hunting.

RE: All in 1 Shotgun

jlee477 (2/4/2008)
Check into a Remington 870.
