I am new to UTV's so some of these questions may sound foolish.

What is the disadvantage of not having a front locking differential?

Is taking off in first gear very slow so you take off in second? I intend to use this out on the sand dunes and occasionally on trails. Would you recommend for that type of use.

Do you have any photos of your Command? What year is it?

Is the under belly protected well or does it need some type of under armor. Dealer photos never show the under belly.

So no shifting to 4WD on the fly. Ads stated you could.

Thanks in advance for you information.

I am thinking of buying a Commando and it looking just like this

BP

RE: Joyner vehicles

OK. Have had it out to the deer camp and went through the real tuff stuff. Did get stuck once but was in a rutted out road that holds water 24/7 and full of yazzoo clay (gumbo mud). But since it comes with a winch no biggie. got right out. This thing is solid. Does need some front fender flares to keep mud from slinging all over. I am working on that now. It has climbed every grade i have tried and I am quite the adventurous type. I changed the oil and gear oil just to be sure it had good grade stuff in it. It is hard to do this because of the full metal skid plate on the bottom. You have to take it off then drain fluids and refill then put it back on but i figure once each year after the season is over should be enough. It rides great and even at speed. Its consistent top end is 35-38 can go faster but gets up to high in the rpms and starts to flash them at you. bought a rumble seat for the back for my 2 boys to ride, has seat belts and can be pulled out with just the rails left in so you can carry stuff. Very quit as far as rattles go. Some other makes I have test driven seem to have a lot of noise from the bed rattling etc. All the places this touches has large rubber pads so it is quiet. I love it. First gear granny, so I usually start off in 2 unless pulling/going up steep hill. If you think of anything specific you want to ask let me know. Be glad to answer any questions. I love mine. It doesnt have a front locking diff but have seen no need for one to be honest, lest not yet. I went through most of the bad stuff in 2 wheel drive cause I thought i had put in 4 wheel....lol....also have to be stopped to put in 4 wheel or back to 2 wheel. But i usually just put it in 4 when i go in the woods and dont worry about it.

Randy

RE: Joyner vehicles

Hey, I am thinking about getting a Joyner Commando pretty much the exact same one as you w/27 in tires. Havent used it in any true off road riding yet but it is nice. I have to go out of town this week for a meeting but will get to ride next weekend on the property. So far i really like it. A little bigger then i thought it would be. Wouldnt fit on my 5x8 trailer without taking the back ramp/gate off. Iszuzu trooper engine parts are used for replacement so no problem with parts. The 27 inch tires is what made the gate not close. Will update more next week. I bought this on ebay, for 6000. Has 28 miles on it. Guy bought for his kids and they didnt like and would rather ride the horses so i got a good deal. More to follow.

Randy

RE: Joyner vehicles

Sounds great H82. I will give it a go and let you know how it is in about 3 weeks, put it through the paces. I am in mississippi. Bad boy buggies have problem with their rear end and unless you are just going to deer stand and back the battery on any cart is less then 2 hours straight ride time. i tried to run one around my land (850 acres) and less then halfway through had to go plug it up till the next day. If you want something for hunting and riding to enjoy the property gotta go gas. I will try and add a XRT 850 club car to my hunting next year for just going to stand and checking food plots. I will update you on the joyner. Hope it works out, hehe.

Randy

RE: Joyner vehicles

No, its an 05 660. I'd love to see how some of these might be decked out. He said it has been very reliable and he has had no problems with it. He seemed to be very pleased. He didn't know much about the UTV's though. Looking at the Commando spec sheet it gives up alot to the Ranger but it is also $2000.00 less than the 500 and $3000.00 less than the 700. If the price is not an issue then I would probably spend the extra cash on the Ranger. A good question you need to ask your buddy is how is the parts availability and warranty.

I almost bought a Ranger myself but it is overkill for what I need right now so I bought a close-out 4X4 350 Rancher added a drop-rack and extended warranty for about $4500.00. If I need to move something heavy I have a small trailer I use. All the same utility just not as convenient and I can't carry passengers as easily. A buddy of mine bought a Ranger 700 for Christmas and I am starting to itch for a Ranger again.

Check out: <a href="http://www.southernhonda.com/new_vehicle_list.asp?Category=2&CatDesc=ATVs&Desc=&sid=05963709X2K13K2008J12I37I17JPMQ1606R0&ModelYear=2007&Manufacturer=1&DispType=13" target=_"blank" class="SmlLinks">http://www.southernhonda.com/new_vehicle_list.asp?Category=2&CatDesc=ATVs&Desc=&sid=05963709X2K13K2008J12I37I17JPMQ1606R0&ModelYear=2007&Manufacturer=1&DispType=13

They have some of the best prices around.
