down here in bama we don't miss church , football or opening day of dove season. J/K

seriously , it's a great way to kick off the season , and get a little dog work in for my lab,[ he'll need it come duck season]

oh yeah the table fair is unbeatable ,try cutting a slit in each side of the breast and insert a peice of pepper or pepprjack cheese then marinate and wrap in bacon.

I can't wait either. I still have some breasts in the freezer from last year (I killed 328 of them and probably have 50 breasts left). I might just have to grill some up tonight, wrapped in bacon and marinated in Dale's sauce of course.. Of course they aren't too bad deep fried either...

I used to be in a club, I'm still in a trap shootin' club in Gainesville, I used to go every Wednesday but haven't in a long time due to other responsibilities.

I was killin' Blue Jays last weekend and somehow mistook a Blue Jay for a dove... But it sure was tasty to Auggie, my dog...

Oh it is a blast. Just keep in mind, later in the year they fly faster, higher, and they put on an extra layer of feathers, a bullet proof vest if you will!! But it is a load of fun!!!

It starts here on Sept 1st. Normally I will go borrow mom's 20 gauge so I don't demolish the little dove we have here with the Mossberg.

Dove hunting gets me fired up for the upcoming seasons, but it also helps knock off the rust of my shooting abilities for teal season. For us, dove is the in the first part of September, then teal opens in the latter part of the month. After that, I sit around daydreaming about the duck season opener. I Love cuttin' feathers!!!

Been seeing about 4 fat dove at my house. Almost thought about getting a pellet gun and when season opens..............well you know.

Yeah Bowbo, I saw a dove walking around in my yard the day before yesterday and I thought... "hmmmm...he'd be mighty good wrapped in bacon and sizzeling on the grill, hmmm...wonder how well he'd taste marinated in Dale's..."

It must be a Georgia thing!!

It's not very popular around here (Indiana) though. Hard to find places to go and shoot birds too.
