I use 2f and 3f in either kik or goex in my flinters,sidelocks and inlines.I love the smell and smoke of the real thing.I don't mind the clean up and who the he** needs 2 shots?

Triple 7's in pellets, just for the fact that its convenient for me.

American Pioneer Powder (I use Jim Shockey's Gold series pellets).This powder burns extremely clean and you can load several times without needing to run a cleaning patch down the bore.

Hey Elk Chaser,
I'm with you, loose 777, it's a lot cheaper than those pellets and a lot faster loading if you pre-measure your loads in vials. If you can catch the sale at Wally World, you can pick it up for around $12 a lbs.

I just joined today so this is my first post.

I use Triple Seven loose powder. I started with pyrodex pellets, but didn't like the group size (12") or the fact that the first shot was always 8" to the left of the rest of the shots. Triple Seven puts all shots in the same 4" group. That is at 100 yards with open sights, so it works well for hunting deer and elk.

Pyrodex or Hodgdon in round pellets. Not sure I like the square peg in a round hole approach of that other manufacturer's pellet.

Hi all this is my first post here. I shoot flintlocks, sidelock percussion, and a knight bighorn inline. I have tried pyrodex and APP. I did not get the result I expected with pyrodex and had a miserable experience with APP feeling it was underpowered and had several hangfires with it. I only use good old Gooex (Goex) in 2 and 3 f in all my front loaders.

Clean in half the time is a great thing for sure. When I use to shoot the old Hawkin and use Pyrodex I would have to let the barrel sit in the tub for quite awhile and boy did my wife get mad. Now I shoot a CVA Wolf using Triple Seven and I love it.

I switched to Triple Seven pellets from Pyrodex pellets just this year and absolutely love the difference.

777 pellets for my inline. 100 grains at a time.

Goex or whatever FFF black powder for my Enfield, which is more of a conventional ML.
