After further research I bought the Leupold. I got it online from B&H Photo ( a NYC store selling accessories for guns! I could not resist). They were cheaper than Cabelas.

I have to go with Leupold on this one the glass is so clear and it is amazing how much light they gather in low-light conditions.

Problem with the Nikon is you have to use the 150 grain charge of Pyrodex and a 250 grain Shockwave with a 28" barrel at what ever sea level they have it set at.

The Leupold you can be a little more creative with and dial it in.

I have a Leupold on my 30.06 but I really like the Nikon BDC 250 for my Rem 700 ML. I like the way you can compensate for bullet drop with that reticle. Leupold never let me down but I don't think they have the BDC circles. I think they have one but with small black dots. I like the open circles in the Nikon BDC. In Black Matte only $250 at Cabelas.

They're both good scopes, I'm partial toward Leupold though. I recently had the custom shop swap out a reticle for me and was very happy with the quick turn around, 9 days and back at my door.

My next one will the be Leupold ultimate with the SABR reciticle. I own both Nikon and Leupold but prefer Leupold. What sells them to me is the unconditional lifetime guarntee and being made in America. In other words, your great grandson can break that scope and get it fix and/or replaced. Their customer service is second to none when you have to use it which is not much.

Not that I don't own items not made here. The older I get though the more I appreciate trying to buy the most I can from here

Finally decided to muzzleload hunt. Bought a T/C Encore Endeavor last week and have been shooting open sights. Time to get a scope. I have narrowed it down to the Nikon Omega with BDC reticle and the Leuopold Ultimate Slam 3 x 9 x 40. Any suggestions?
