I graduated from ECU in 1977...We had a beach house on Airstrip Road (Kill Devil Hills) from 1966-1975, I've hunted rabbits all over the beach, did a ton of bass fishing on Currituck from 1966-1985 or so...I spent some wonderful times down there, we still take the 4th off and go back down with my brothers and sisters and their kids, have a blast...

Very kewl nchawkeye. THat was about the same time my mom graduated from there with her Master's degree. Man, I miss the Outer Banks...Kill Devil Hills...the mountains of sand dunes...dirt biking, dune sliding, fishing, surfing, hunting, whatever...there was always something fun to do around there you're right... Welcome to Mossy Oak bro. I look forward to hearing about the hunting up there...

Thanks...I was trying to do it with the image icon, just couldn't get them up for some reason....

I grew up on the coast, near Elizabeth City, I have lived in Asheboro, which is near Greensboro since 1983, still go back home though when I get serious about deer hunting...

i have a few....no pix though (yet....) but I have a question...i see a lot of Nikons (I use one as well) how does everyone like them? any comments/complaints? I swear by mine.....and I can pass any feedback straight to Nikon if there is any. (if yall dont know....my brother is the tech service manager for Nikon)

50 cal Omega with Nikon Omega scope. I have yet to kill anything with it, just got it last year. I will this year though.

Flintlock Do you use the Percussion cap----Musket cap--------or did you get the 209 conversion kit ?

bought a musket nipple and use it. I rarely hunt using any more then 90-100 gr's of powder too.
If I were to start shooting 150 gr's I think i would want to go with the conversion to 209 primers.

I am pretty happy with it's preformance and accuracy. Maybe not as sleek looking as the TC's but it gets the job done just the same

That is the same one I have however I use open sights. May check out a scope for it if I get around to it. Very good shooter.

Not the best pic but the top two are my smokepoles, the bottom is my hog stomper Marlin 30/30.

Top is a 1863 Enfield Armisport in .577 caliber (same rifle used by the Confederate States and US Armies). I've killed two does with this gun and I consider them trophies having taken them with this beast.

Second is my more modern smokepole. .50 cal Traditions Tracker. No game has fallen to this rifle yet. It saw 4 hunts last year with no activity to speak of.

Here is my Encore. Stainless/hardwoods 209x50. It has a Bushnell Elite 3200, 3x9x40 on it, mounted in Leupold Quick Release Base and rings. I had the QLA removed, and the scope base modified to a 6 screw. It has a #2 Bellm hinge pin, and Bellm hammer extension.
