That would be the easiest way. That way you get the right size mounts and rings for the scope, but for the most part they are universal. I recommend Leupold rings and mounts.

RE: Scopes??

Okay, my family was VERY good to me for some reason and I am NOW in the market for a scope for my CVA...

Question on mounts...I don't know much about them, do you need mounts for the gun and then the scope or mounts for the scope and they are universal? Never had any problems with the scope. You definately must use a high power rifle scope, muzzleloader scope or a shotgun scope to hold up to the recoil. If I were to buy another scope strictly for a muzzleloader I would look into one that is parallax free at 50 yds instead of the normal 100 to 150 yd parallax of most rifle scopes as most of my shots are under 100 yds.

RE: Scopes??

A muzzleloader or shotgun scope is your best bet!

By the way, WELCOME TO MOSSY OAK!!!

RE: Scopes??

I would get a muzzleloader (ML) scope. They are designed specifically to handle the different pressures of black powder and the MOA, etc. I've got a Traditions ML scope that works great. I think CVA makes their own that you can buy as a combo, you might want to check those out.

Scopes??

I want to mount a scope on my CVA but I don’t know what scope to put on it.
