Im disabled and unable to use a conventional bow,Ive used a crossbow since 2005 and until getting a new horton legend 175 i used a a barnett rc-150 compond crossbow.
They are pretty accurate and theyre a smaller crossbow which fires 16 inch bolts up to 234 F.P.S
these bows are excellent for smaller framed hunters or even experienced hunters looking for something lighter and more compact to carry threw the woods,I got mine from cabelas for about $265.00 for the RC-150 kit,for a young girl in her situation it might be a good way to go,its an excellent entery level crossbow.

some states have parameters for crossbow use check with your state regs first any crossbow of 150 lbs draw weight will kill a deer our state allows crossbows of 75 lb draw weight or higher i bought my crossbow at cabelas it is a barnett quad 400 kit any crossbow you buy go over it very good and ask to shootit before you buy hank

Crossbow question

My daughter is disabled and is in a wheelchair. She is 17 but has been hunting with me since she was 4. She learned how to aim and shoot using a bb gun with a red dot scope. I got her a 243 for deer but her condition causes her to jump because of the noise. Once she gets scared once, then she is trigger shy after that. Last year she got her first deer with the help of a guide at Legends Ranch. The guide basically had to pull the trigger for her. So for this season I was going to get her a crossbow and I saw all those cheap crossbows on ebay, 150 & 180 lb crossbows. Does anyone have any experience with these bows? I can't afford the ones at Basspro but I think the only way she would be able to hunt this year would be with a crossbow because they won't be so loud. What do you think?
