Get the shop to drop the poundage down as low as it will go and let her take a draw on it. You might be surprised of how easy she can pull the 50 pound bow. I have a Browning Micro Midas and a Diamond Edge with 30-40 pound limbs and you'll be amazed how easy the Diamond is over the Browning. Only difference between them is age, the Browning is a couple of years older.

The CottonWood Eq is the one she wants the most! But the biggest problem for us is, NO ONE around here has the Eq in 40-50lb limbs for her to actually shoot and try out! They are all 50-60lb limbs in the shops.

So how do we go about finding out if she'll even like it??

I LOVE my Equalizer! I have the black marble riser & firestorm gray limbs. One of my conditions for getting a new bow was that it WASN'T camoflage so I totally get the "it has to look good" part of it all!!! AND I receive many compliments on the looks of the bow when I'm out and about with it.

I have a 27" draw length but since I'm still under a year for learning to shoot - I got the 40# limbs for it. I can always upgrade to the 50# limbs once I build my strength. (I had to learn to shoot left-handed due to my eye dominance issues so still working on the strength part!)

Her best bet is to try as many as she can - everyone's a little different and the bows feel like they are balanced different depending on the manufacturer. Ladies have a different center of gravity so it's really important to find one that feels good the minute you pick it up.

Watch the grips too - the standard grip was way too thick for me - sideplates are much better. (I have custom ones to match from Loesch Grips).

The more "girl" shooters the better!!!

Look at BT's site...most all pro shops that I've looked at have been about $50 lower than the retail price on BT's website. When I bought mine I talked the guy down to $600. But he went to check and found he couldn't go lower than $630. So I believe they have room to play. Might be worth a shot.

Out of the Target colors in the Equalizer......... I myself, like the FireStorm Gray the best!

I found a shop that has the Cottonwood Target Equalizer (cost more than the camo version) for $699.

Would anybody "might" know the going rate in your area for this particular bow? Let me know what they sell for in your area please, if you do.

This is the best price anywhere within a couple hours, that I have found so far. Just curious is all. Thx

I agree Virg. But you know how women can be, she's gotta have one that "looks good" (to her)!

So there are about 3 different bows that she has "kinda" narrowed it down to. Now I just need to get her to the shops to shoot those bows. Only problem is, we have to run to 3 different bow shops, up to 40-50 miles away for one of them.

Jason, the PSE's fall into the category of.................... "Nope! Don't like those!" Sorry bro.............. but revert back to the second sentence in this post!

Ernie is there a shop locally that may carry some bows in her draw weight? The only way IMO is to let her pick one that best fits her.

How many Lbs is she pulling? I'm guessing her drawlength is about 26+ loop?

Bud you can get most any of the bows that are parallel limb in 50 or 60 lb limbs with 26" cam. Heck you could get her a drenalin or XT...............Just something to think about.

I'm wanting to get my wife into a parallel limb bow, with the full 80% let-off, and with the new technology of all the "smart cams" of today. She's currently shooting an older PSE that we got for her about 4 yrs ago. She only shoots target and 3-D's........ NO HUNTING.

Anyhoo, I went yesterday and looked at a couple for her (well, really for my curiosity first). She wasn't available to go at the time anyway.

I looked at the Bowtech Equalizer, and the Hoyt Kobalt. Now, as a hunter, I liked the Equalizer the best of the two. Also I thought the Kobalt looked a little too small (my wife is about 5' 7"). Also there was about a $150 difference between the two bows (at the place I went to).

I also showed her the Martin line, and she kind of likes the Leopard too. We've glanced (online) at the Elites, Mathews, Parker, Diamonds, Mission bows by Mathews.

Does anyone have any other bows that they would recommend in the parallel limb category?

I want to make sure I look into all of the choices. Then have her go and shoot as many as possible for her final decision.
