Just type in winchester.com and go to their serial number site.
I have checked on everything from a model 1903 .22 Automatic 'take down' rifle to the modern-day model 94's.

HAHAHA! Allright, man! Winchester Model 70 were made from 1936-1980. It's funny that I bought the 2008 Limited Edition Winchester Model 70. The price tag was at $999. I got away for almost $800 (tax included!). It's a .30-06 caliber. Love it. Am eager to get Leupold VX-3 riflescope to match the gun.

What I would suggest you do is contact Winchester directly with the Serial Number you have on the gun that you inherited. Never trust a gun broker because of past experience. Got suckered out once on the rifle I wanted to trade and gave up so much than what the gun is actually worth. I would also encourage you to pick up some gun collector value books as well. That should help greatly.

Dont know if gun broker would help ya or not. I know that they sell guns on there but dont know if they have any info on guns. Try google or somthin and type in the gun and see what it would bring up. Thats the only thing that I know to do.
