Thats so true the heavy rock is nasty sounding and unnatural. Foiles DVDs in particular, play that loud angry sounding stuff.

I agree the shows have not been very good. There have been a couple of good ones. The recent Oklahoma duck hunt was really good.

There are a couple things I get tired of. Do they really have to shoot every show via a paid for guide? It would be nice to see real life guys on real life hunts even if that means we don't see 30 ducks shot an episode.

There other thing is I don't understand why every duck hunting show has to play horrible back ground music. I don't listen to crappy rock when I duck hunt and I'd rather not be subjected to it while I watch duck hunting. Just the natural sounds would be a really nice change.

Show hasn't been very good this year.They need to do some work on this show before some of us just won't watch anymore

I try not to shoot hens aswell. Drakes make prettier mounts anyway and give more meat.

chalka I like that idea in regards to the hens!!

With the skybusting its only partly about the number of killed birds. To me its more about winging a bird and having it slowly starve to death over the course of a few weeks. I don't like anything to suffer if it doesnt have to. To help me not skybust I keep track of all my shots and my shooting percentage year by year. When youre closely monitoring your % you pass up questionable shots because your trying to increase your shooting percent. Last year I harvested 68 ducks and only lost two! I'm sure I wounded a few that flew away but I limited that as much as possible by taking close range shots only.

In our group of Hunters whoever shoots a Hen doesn't get to shoot at the next flock that comes in.If you cant tell if its a drake or not then don't shoot thats our philosophy.As far as skybusting goes you can blame that on the 3 1/2" now everyone thinks they can shoot at anything as long as they can see it.

yea i agree with you on that i havent seen many whistling wings videos all of my dvds are zink there good to watch and i will usually put them on pause and try to call and practice the sounds they make. but on the other hand i do think that every now and then it is ok to take a long shot or two at snow geese and snow geese only because of there numbers

Kill 1 hen and you are basically killing 10-30 ducks. Kill a drake and you kill 1 duck. That math is simple for me to understand.

I agree it can be difficult to tell on videos what is and isnt skybusting. Here's the easy way to tell. Count how long it takes for the bird to hit the ground.

In at least one of the whistling wings shows this year the guys shooting are actually bragging about how far out the ducks are after the luckily drop one. Its amazing to me that they can honestly run these shows and then have the guts to have a "conservation minute". What a joke!

i agree with killin hens as far as sky bustin i hate sky busters but i do know on the videos i have and watch some shots look high on camera but aren't when your under them.

I've been watching Whispering Wings episodes for the past several weeks and it just disgusts me to see how many hen mallards they shoot on a weekly basis. Where I come from the only hen mallards that are shot are mistakes. Most of the really offensive shows have been filmed in Canada where the limit on hens is much more liberal. But to me there is no excuse for not picking out the drakes or at least attempting to do so. Each hen shot results in many more birds never being hatched. The most disturbing thing about it is these birds are being shot by and with professional guides. I would think they if any would understand the importance of shooting drakes and letting the hens fly.

I'll hold off until another day about the sky busting ive seen by these so called "professionals". I'm sure all those cripples wasting away in the marsh are easy to forget when your unloading a box of shells a day and getting some Doctor and his buddies to pay you big bucks to take them with you.
