Just recently got a box of blind sides, father used some, 3 1/2s #2s, said he shot a wood duck at about 25 yrds, crippled it, started to swim off, and had to pump the last two into it to slow it down so he could get it with the kayak. But my favorite would definetly be the remington hypersonics. by far.

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

SBEII

Patternmaster Short Range or Extended Range

Ducks - Hevi-Shot 3.5" #6, Kent 3.5 #3, or Hevi-Metal 3" #3
Geese - Kent 3.5" BB

---OR--

Ithaca SKB XL 900 20ga

Hevi-Shot Duck 3" #6

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

Mossberg935- Kicks High Flyer- Full & X-Full & Carlson Hevi-Shot MOD.
Benelli Super Nova-Kicks High Flyer- Full & Carlson Hevi-Shot MOD.

Hevi-Shot,Hevi-Metal & Hevi-Steel.
#6's-B shot.3" & 3 1/2" 12 Gauge 1 1/4oz- 1 1/2oz.

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

SBE II
Foiles Strait Heat Choke Tube
Kent Fast Steel - 3" 3's....Early season
Kent Fast Steel - 3 1/2" BB's....Later in the season.

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

i use a patternmaster ext long range with 3" #2 ans for ducks 3" #4 with my sbe 2

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

Browning Silver Stalker DT: 12 gauge, 3", Invector Plus Mod choke.

Hevi-Metal: BB & #2's for geese

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

SBE2-Pattermaster

or

Xtrema ll-modified factory choke

Bismuth 3" #4

or

winchester supreme 3 1/2" 1 1/2 oz #2 or BB

If I am in the brake i use the bismuth with the xtrema ll. I thought since they were just eating it up and dropping in so close to the sweet sweet sounds of the call that I'd just as well use a willow switch limb and hit them on the head and save steel. I opted to just shoot'em anyways though.

RE: What do you use to knock'em down???

In 12 Guage

Kent's Faststeel 3" 1 1/8oz #4's at 1550FPS through a patternmaster Short Range choke in the auto OR Factory improved cylinder in the top and skeet in the bottom of the O/U

I am going to try hunting with a 20 gauge a little this year. I am not set on a load yet but have done some patterning with the Kent's 3" 7/8 oz load with 3's in it. I need to try it with fours though. The 3's looked best at 30 yards through Mod choke on paper. Improved was pretty empty at 30, but looked fantastic at 20 yards.

I only hunt puddle ducks and an occasional Swan over decoys at very close ranges.

Bret

What do you use to knock'em down???

What combo of gun, choke & ammo do you like the best for ducks & geese????

I use a Benelli SBE2 with a Kicks High Flyer "mod" choke for ducks & geese and any range. I don't shoot anything past 40 yards.

I prefer Federal Premium ultra-shok steel 3.5" 1 3/8 oz BB's for geese, and the same load in #2's for ducks. If I can't get these shells I will use kent fasteel in the same loads.
