This is not a comment thread.......just post your name, picture and a brief descriptiopn about the buck.

Once everyone has posted their buck (if they want to) then maybe a MOD can edit with a poll of everyones name and folks can vote on it.

This is not about the biggest rack, most points, vote on the buck YOU think is best based on your own personal criteria and likes!

Just curious if we will be having a spring turkey contest ?? If so , can we get any info as to teams , rules , dates , etc. . I missed out on the deer contest signup at short notice . If anybody has any ideas , post/post/post . It doesnt help to think about it , lets put it all out there and sort it out later . The spring season is fast approaching and this should give us time to get all the kinks worked out .

2008 Shed Hunting Contest

We have agreed to host a shed hunting contest this year. There will be categories for largest shed, smallest shed, most number of points, largest matched set and weirdest thing found while shed hunting. Each antler can only be entered into one of the five categories. So in the event that you find the largest shed that also has the most number of points, you can only enter it into one of those two categories. Same thing goes for matched set. If you find a matched set and one of the antlers has the most number of points, then you can either enter it in the most number of points category, or the largest matched set category. So basically, no antler can be entered into more than one category. To be eligible, the member must have at least 20 posts on the forum. The contest will begin on February 1st and will end May 1st. Prizes may be offered, but for now it is just for bragging rights. There will be a separate thread where you can post your entries into. Questions or comments can be addressed in this thread. We will be going off of the honor system so please don’t post sheds found from previous years.

As this group has been the best ever in a contest I think we can drop the sheet with the name and all.

Everyone here this year that participated was on the utmost up-and-up. My hats off to you guys and gals!

ALSO................

if for eaxample..there are 4 members to a team............ members can each post up two deer....... but the team can only have points from 4 deer.

That way if someone has a bad year for bucks or is a NOW SHOW MIA the team can accumalate points. More fair that way..............

If one member has a spike and other members have two bigger rack deer.......they can collectively increase their score . All deer killed by each hunter will listed although not all will be used for points. Just the teams best 4 deer for points.

Hows does that sound gang?

and some pics....... I killed an 8 point, and a main frame 10 but ti had a broken brow tine... so we will get 14 points added to our scores when I get time this week to post pics.....

This is the official sign up post..........if you want to join the deer hunting contest....
WHITETAIL, MULE, Blacktail, Coues) ..no other species.....post the following:

Name
State
Season Dates (some may hunt multiple states.......)

Do not try and hijack this thread with fluff or chit chat.........just sign up.

Rules are in the CONTEST section but I will post a thread here just for that.

At the end of season, if someone will volunteer........a post with just the pics of the rack bucks, and with a poll in it for voting, will be put up. The BEST BUCK will be voted on. It does not have to be the biggest, or have the most points, it should be what you the voter likes in a buck, (Character of the rack, mass, etc)

Once I see when the earliest season starts, I will set a deadline for Teams to be drawn and I will post them.

Once Team are drawn and announced, each Team will be required to start a thread for their Team and then choose a name for their Team.

I will review all the ending dates of season and set a date to have the deer entry cutoff. If you do not have pics and info posted by then, then "TOUGH"!

Once season starts we will set up a thread for postng the pics of your kills for points entry.

I will accept the offers of the guys who do not want join the contest, to act as referees and judges on questionable submissions.

It was posted that every one donate something for prizes.

This may be tough depending on how many members there are per team. But dooable....If someone wants to handle this then they can step forawrd and be drafted!

I ( Southern Outdoor Products) will however.......donate one No Scents At All Combo pack to each member of the winning Team.......

And one to the winner of the BEST BUCK contest

Remember........it is all for fun and braging rights.

I had MR big (11 point) chase a doe in a thicket below for 15 minutes yesterday afternoon.....never could get a shot on him...... all I saw was his rack.

The rut is just kicking in and I have a herd of about 8 does I have elft alone coming in there. sooner or later he will make the mistake of chasing one of the HOT girls into an opening!

Hunt this weekend, go home for Christmas eve and day....hit the woods again Wednesday the 26th till January 7th...........

Wish me luck.........been passing on does in hopes of him staying in the area till he breeds all of them!

Note..... a vehicle is not considered a legal weapon in this contest...so no road kills)

Each entrant must post a picture of him with the animal (each member must write on a piece of paper with someth8ng that shows his name, Date, state killed, in the picture), if tags are required in the state it was killed, a picture of the tag filled out and on the animal is required. If not, a picture of the persons hunting license will suffice.

Scoring:
