We get sinkholes all the time down here.  One of the major roads here in town just had one unexpectedly and a VW Beetle went down...LOL&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;That also reminds me of that joke where the two guys are standing around a sinkhole and can't figure out how deep it is...they see a transmission laying on the ground and decided to drop it in there to see how deep it is, they do that and here comes a sheep that runs up to the hole and dives right in.  &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;They sat there dumbfounded for a few minutes until a farmer came up and asked if they had seen his sheep.  They told him what happened and he couldn't believe it!!!! We had to lower a ladder down in the hole and tie a rope behind his front legs.   We then hoisted it out of the hole with the front end loader of the tractor.
