Went out Saturday here in PA.

Seen a couple hens, one was only 3 feet from my truck, early in the morning.

While walking along the field edge heading back to the truck to try another area, had a gobbler explode out of the hayfield to my left and suprised the crap out of me. Sent 3 his way but never connected.

Hopefully this week will fare better, Memorial day is the last day of PA's turkey season.

I figure this is my year for tag soup, I usually go 2 years eating tag soup and then 2 years with great sucess, well I guess one down and one to go Soup anyone

I got caught flat footed for my entire season. Too much preperation on equipment, call practicing, etc. that I didn't take the time necessary to search out alternate places to hunt if my primary fell through. Well it fell through big time. The land owner is on a tree pushing down tear, saying he wants to make more tillable ground. Pushed down a major roost area and the majority of the birds just moved the heck out! A buddy of mine was also supposed to take me to his parents place after he got back from his Missouri hunt. Four guys went for a week and not one shot fired ! Guess he was so depressed he didn't follow up and take me when he got back. All boils down to three tags in the trash. That'll teach me to do better for next year.

Sorry to hear about your season Whitetail101...

Seen a couple hens, one was only 3 feet from my truck, early in the morning.

I think this might be the problem. I know it's tough...but I usually try and hunt in the woods outside of the truck for turkeys (deer are a different story)...

It's usually is a little more effective in my neck of the woods for turkeys...

I kicked her out on the way back to the truck, leaving for another area

We have all had a season like that. I am from PA, too. I am in for a tough time myself.
I am trying to bag a gobbler with my High Country, and film it. No luck yet, but I am not going to give up. I will bring the salt to cover up the taste of paper.
